What is RC Car Bashing

By Joe Rich

Bashing is racing a cheap RC car round no defined course without any rules or regulations. If you crash so what it is all about having fun.

Many people in the RC car world don’t know what bashing is all about. Actually, some think bashing is similar to racing but that isn’t the case. There is a big difference between car bashing and racing.

Generally, RC car bashing refers to the driving of your RC car away from your race track and when you’re not adjusting the settings of your car to take a racing mode. In other words, if you’re not following the rules and regulations of racing, you’re car bashing.

If you’re new to the hobby or the RC car space, there are valuable things you’ll need to know so that you can get a clear picture of what RC car bashing is and isn’t. Since the confusion that exists for most people is differentiating bashing from racing, here are the differences between the two:

Driving Without Rules or Regulations

Imagine driving your car without having to follow rules and instructions. If you’re having a great time driving your RC car without rules and regulations, this is what car bashing is all about.

Normally, racing takes a more disciplined approach whereby the drivers involved have to do so following particular rules. For example, when you’re racing, you have to stick to your lane. If you happen to break the set rules and regulations, you can be disqualified from the race.

In bashing, you don’t apply any rules. You’re driving for fun. Especially for beginners who don’t know much about racing, bashing is something they can do as they get familiar with their RC car.

Driving Casually

If you’re doing a casual drive without competing with other drivers, this is car bashing. You can do it from anywhere and anytime. With racing, you have to plan for where and when you’ll be competing with your fellow drivers.

However, this isn’t the case with RC car bashing. Fundamentally, there are no formal arrangements to drive your RC car in a way that you strictly follow defined instructions within a specific period of time. Again, since car bashing is a casual activity, you can either do it by yourself or with your friends as well.

It’s a fun activity. The bottom-line here is that bashing is purely relaxed and non-competitive. On the other hand, racing isn’t laid-back. It has to be a formally organized activity with the aspect of competitiveness in mind.

Driving Your Car from Anywhere

While you can’t race from anywhere, bashing allows you to drive your RC car from anywhere. Whether it’s on the street, at school, at the backyard, or at the beach, you can use it wherever you want. You can have fun from wherever you feel like as long as you’re not causing problems there.

So, if you’ve been thinking of bashing, don’t limit yourself to only one or two places. You can bash your RC car from anywhere you like. There are no restrictions here, as long as you’re mindful of the environment where you’re having fun at.

Testing the Limits of your Car

If you don’t know the limits of your car and you would like to know how far it can go, it’s through bashing that you can get all the answers. In other words, unlike when you’re racing, you can make high jumps without having to worry so much about landing.

If you’re a basher, you don’t worry so much about wrecks. In fact, you can’t avoid them because you’re testing the limits of your car and you’re doing it for the fun bit as well. Since RC cars are hobby cars, most drivers are not afraid of what might happen to their cars. Though, this doesn’t mean that they are careless with them. These cars are costly and, therefore, there owners are keen to ensure that they don’t destroy them.

Now that you have got an understanding of these important characteristics of RC car bashing, you can differentiate it from RC car racing. If you’re the type of RC car fans who like having some extra fan without restrictions, you can try out car bashing. The only thing you should be careful about as you do some bashing is to ensure that you don’t do a lot of damage on your car that will require some expensive repairs. Take care of your asset.
